ALLEN COUNTY — A person with COVID-19 died Sunday in Allen County, according to the county health department.
The patient was an Allen County resident and "older adult" who was hospitalized, according to the Allen County Department of Health. The patient had a history of chronic health issues.
“Our hearts go out to the family who lost their loved one today as a result of COVID-19,” said Allen County Health Commissioner Dr. Deborah McMahan, in the release. “We continue to ask for the community’s help in adhering to guidance that will slow the spread of this virus so our hospitals can continue to provide their best care to patients suffering from COVID-19 as well as other serious conditions.”
On Sunday, the Indiana State Department of Health announced the deaths of two people in the state who had COVID-19, according to a press release. The patients were in Scott and Marion counties.

According to the latest data from the Indiana State Department of Health, there have been six other COVID-19 related deaths in Indiana. There are at least 201 positive cases of COVID-19 and 1,494 people have been tested.
