Subaru Automotive of Indiana to temporarily suspend production

INDIANAPOLIS — Subaru Automotive announced Thursday it will suspend all production starting on Monday as a result of COVID-19.

SIA will suspend production from Monday, March 23 through Sunday, March 29.

Although production comes to a halt, all Subaru associates will receive full pay during the one-week shutdown.

The Lafayette manufacturing plant is Subaru's only U.S. plant and employs over 6,000 associates.

In Febraury, SIA announced investment plans for its Lafayette manufacturing operations that would create up to 350 new jobs for Hoosiers.
