FRANKLIN -- A Franklin Church decided to do a good deed on Good Friday.
Grace United Methodist purchased 109 meals from Mi Pueblo Mexican restaurant in Franklin and then gave those meals to healthcare workers at Homeview Health and Rehab.
Organizers said there were two objectives, supporting a local restaurant and showing appreciation to healthcare heroes on the front lines of the pandemic.
“I think this is just a small gesture of kindness toward people who are doing good work, and we want to celebrate that," said pastor Andy Kinsey. "I think Franklin is the kind of community that wants to do the right thing and we’ve done the right thing over the years and we want to continue that kind of generosity.”
“It’s just nice to know that people truly realize how much we are doing here to keep their loved ones safe. And, yeah, it’s definitely appreciated," said Amy Schilk of Homeview Health and Rehab.
There was enough food to feed three shifts of employees at Homeview.
