INDIANAPOLIS -- The mother of a Warren Central football player who died after being shot earlier this month is hoping that a reward will lead to the arrest of the person who killed her son and his friend.

Dijon Anderson, 18, was one of three Warren Central students shot near 38th Street and Moller Road on May 6.

Angel Mejia-Alfaro, 17, died at the scene.

Anderson was taken to the hospital where he later died. The third student's condition is not known at this time.

A $2,500 reward is now being offered by the City of Hope Community Church and Anderson’s family for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Anderson’s mother, Christa Frazier, said she just wants to get justice for her son and she hopes that a reward will help push someone to come forward and identify the person or persons responsible for the shooting.

“Turn him in, say something,” said Anderson’s mother, Christa Frazier. “You can be anonymous. You don’t have to say your name.”

Over a thousand people attended Anderson’s funeral on Wednesday, including hundreds of Warren Central students and teachers.

Seniors at Warren Central High School also donned their caps and gowns for a touching tribute to the #3 football star on the field.

Frazier is thankful for the support from the community, but she says she wants closure.

“Just think about it,” said Frazier. “If that was your son or your daughter – wouldn’t you want someone to talk? Or would you want them to run free on the streets and hurt someone else?”

Police released surveillance video and photos earlier this month of two people Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is calling “persons of interest” in the shootings.

If you recognize either of the individuals in the photo above - or have any information about the murders of Dijon Anderson and Angel Mejia-Alfaro contact IMPD or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
