INDIANAPOLIS – A man was arrested Friday morning after police said he pointed a rifle at a woman on Indy's north side before running into a nearby home.

SWAT crews and officers surrounded the home shortly after the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the 2900 block of Boulevard Place while she was taking a family member home.

For hours negotiators attempted to coax the suspect to peacefully surrender.

The man, found to be 29-year-old Robert Richardson, was taken into custody by police a little before 3 p.m. and three people were safely let out of the home.

Police said they found multiple guns, including a rifle, at the home.
