The only known Apple-1 computer sold by late Apple CEO Steve Jobs out of his parent's garage is going up for auction, Christie's announced Monday.
The hand-built computer was sold in 1976 and turned up at a 2004 storage unit auction in Virginia. The evidence -- a canceled check.
The Apple artifact originally sold for $600, which is about $2,500 in 2014 dollars. It's estimated to be worth between $400,000 to $600,000 today.
It will be auctioned at Rockefeller Center in New York City on Dec. 11.
