CARMEL — Hoagy Carmichael is about to get his own statue in Carmel.
The acclaimed Hoosier singer, songwriter and actor was a major contributor to Carmel's "Great American Songbook Foundation."
The hundreds of songs in his catalog include "Stardust," "Georgia on My Mind," and "Heart and Soul."
The statue of Hoagy will be unveiled on Thursday, July 9.
