INDIANAPOLIS – A dog that went missing in November 2016 was returned to its owner Tuesday.
KJ the beagle ran off about five months ago when he and his owner, Wess Capito, went for their daily walk. On Tuesday, while walking her dog near Westlake Apartments, Michaela Popplewell spotted KJ.
She picked him up and posted his photo to social media.
"He was basically in tears," she said.
More than 1,300 flyers around the city were posted by Capito to help find KJ. He even offered a $10,000 reward for those who returned him home.
"He has been with me... he has been with me when I was sick...when I wasn't sick. He has just been there for me," said Capito.
KJ was found perfectly healthy and Capito said his family is now whole again.
"I want to thank everybody for helping. It means a lot to me," he said.
