CARMEL — It's graduation day for an extraordinary baby — the first of many graduations in her future.
The staff and care team at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health North in Carmel lined the halls for the NICU graduation of Hartley Moon.
She was born at 23 weeks on April 15, weighing only one pound four ounces.
But after 134 days in the hospital, Hartley now weighs eight pounds six ounces and can breathe on her own. Which means it was time to graduate and go home for the very first time.
Hartley's parents Taylor and Spencer from McCordsville walked their little girl down the hall dressed in cap and gown.
Lots of smiles, applause and cheers to go around.
