13-year-old arrested in Westfield shooting

WESTFIELD — A 13-year-old Westfield boy has been arrested in the shooting of another teenager.

The victim is 14-years-old and is recovering at an Indianapolis hospital.

Police describe his condition as "stable."

The shooting was not a random act, according to police who say the victim and suspect knew each other.

The incident happened Thursday afternoon at an apartment near State Road 32 and Ditch Road.

Police are not releasing additional information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The suspect is at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center and faces charges of aggravated battery and possession of a handgun without a license.
