GREENWOOD — Amazon has officially opened its long awaited fulfillment center in Greenwood.

The new 600,000-square foot facility opened on Wednesday.

Last month, RTV6 featured the facility in a Hiring Hoosiers report and the company told us it needed to hire more than 1,000 people. On Thursday, the company said they are still hiring at the facility.

On top of Amazon's $15 minimum wage, the company offers benefits including comprehensive healthcare from day one, 401(k) with 50 percent match, up to 20 weeks paid parental leave and Amazon's innovative Career Choice program, which pre-pays 95 percent of tuition for courses in high-demand fields.
