INDIANAPOLIS — Students hoping to follow in the footsteps of their movie-making idols get the chance of a lifetime at the J Everett Light Career Center.

The career center's Animation and Film Production Program allows students to get hands-on experience in writing, filming, editing and even animation creation.

"When a kid is applying for a job or moving onto college, they need to know every little facet of media that they possibly can," Instructor Tyler Hindman said.

Students use programs like adobe suites, photoshop and premiere to test and train their skills. By combining high quality equipment with their knowledge they leave with the best tools to prepare for a career in film and animation after graduation.

At the end of the program, they'll even have a short film to show off — and some college credits to take with them as well.
