WHITESTOWN — Business is booming for PTS Diagnostics and the company's central Indiana footprint is growing larger.

As the business grows, so too does its need for workers.

"It’s hard to see a slow down right now, you know," Bob Huffstodt, president and CEO of PTS Diagnostics, said. "There are always advances and leaps and such in technology and science in terms of cures and things like that but right now, we don’t see any slowing."

The medical device company makes products for managing diabetes and heart disease. By the year 2040, 642 million people will be living with diabetes, so those people will need the tools to manage the disease.

Founded in Indianapolis in 1992, the company has seen dramatic growth. PTS Diagnostics opened a brand new facility in Whitestown recently and now they need to fill it with employees.

"Because we do so many different things here, we have a number of different positions open at any given time typically," Huffstodt said. "We have a high demand of people with engineering backgrounds, software code writers, chemistry, and then moving into the commercial side, we need marketing people, and sales people, finance, accounting people, clerical support. We have many, many hourly positions and assembly line positions that open up so it’s really the whole gamut of different disciplines that we recruit for."

Latasha Little has been a product labeling manager at PTS Diagnostics for 11 years. She says the teamwork environment is what motivates her each day, and “knowing that every day is kind of a little bit different and having a hands-on experience here has really been a big interest for me and just having that variety in my job has been great.”

Another important factor? Products from PTS Diagnostics are helping people on an international scale.

“It’s really fulfilling to me that what I do every day is impacting someone’s health somewhere around the world, in the U.S. and even locally,” Little said.
