GREENWOOD — FedEx has changed its mind, and that's good news for Johnson County.
Three years ago, FedEx announced plans for a ground distribution facility near the Interstate-65/Worthsville Road interchange.
Two years ago, FedEx decided not to build there because data at the time indicated the facility wasn't needed.

Now, FedEx is back in the game. It will locate a ground distribution center in Greenwood. The company plans to have it open by the holiday rush and will hire about 500 workers.
The Greenwood Redevelopment Commission gave its OK this week.
The building is already under construction and nearing completion. A developer decided to go ahead with the project even when FedEx pulled out.
