WESTFIELD — If you are on the hunt for a job, Hittle Landscape wants to hire you and they are willing to train new hires.

The Hamilton County company is giving people a chance to start a new career.

Spring time in landscaping is super busy. It's a $93 billion industry. As the COVID-19 pandemic has forced cutbacks at some companies, Hittle Landscape in Westfield is looking to hire Hoosiers.

"If you don't have experience, maybe you worked in an industry where you are experiencing a layoff or a furlough as a result of this crazy COVID-19 crisis, we are always looking for humble, hungry and smart individuals," Scott Heinemeyer, vice president of human resources for Hittle Landscape, said.

Experience is a plus for some roles, but it isn't necessary. They are willing to train.

"As long as they have a great attitude and a strong willingness to learn," Heinemeyer said.

"We have quite a few open positions this year," Heinemeyer said. "This time of year we are hiring for crew members and crew leaders."

Heinemeyer said people might apply in search of something temporary but may discover more.

"They might discover that landscaping and the green industry is something they really enjoy," he said.
