INDIANAPOLIS — As a country we are in uncharted territory and some people are concerned about running out of essentials like toilet paper, food, water and even electricity.
And the co-founder of Powerhome Solar said his company is experiencing more demand right now for solar energy than ever before.
"I think consumers are feeling really concerned about what the future holds and when it comes to energy and power. That’s an uncertainty, and when you install solar panels into your home that gives you energy independence,” Ben Brookhart said.
Because of that uncertainty Powerhome Solar is looking to hire.
“We are actually hiring sales energy consultants and we are looking for installers as well,” said Brookhart.
Brookhart said to be a successful sales consultant you need to have three things: a positive attitude, a good work ethic and the desire to change your life.
"When you come into the solar energy field, you have a chance to change the world, change the environment and also help people have energy independence,” Brookhart said.
Brookhart said the sales position is full-commission, but he said the clients are curated and the average commission is $2,000 per client. They also offer full benefits.
“We provide a W-2 opportunity, so full time is what we are looking for. We provide health insurance, we provide a company vehicle, we provide a gas card, we provide 401k, we provide the sales training,” Brookhart said.
For both the sales and the installer positions, he said no experience is required.
“As far as the installers, we are looking for guys that are good with their hands and are good with tools. Don’t mind working outside and we will help them get the certification," Brookhart said.
Solar energy is considered an essential business, so they are hiring right now for immediate openings.
“We are building a movement on panel, one customer and one employee at a time so we’ve got a great culture we’ve got a great team a great opportunity for people to come into a new career," Brookhart said.
Brookhart said Indiana produces more leads than any of the nine states they operate in and you don't have to be in Indianapolis to apply. They are looking to hire across the state.
