The drugstore chain says it needs to hire 9,500 employees nationwide. Lowes says it is hiring at all its stores in the Indianapolis area. There are full-time, part-time and season jobs available.

WALMART
New information Friday from Walmart: The company plans to hire 2,000 people at its Indiana stores and a total of 150,000 nationwide.
The base pay starts at up to $17 per-hour. Jobs range from stockers to forklift drivers, so people of all ages and experience levels are needed.

A spokesperson for Meijer tells us they are actively looking to hire people for immediate positions at their local stores. Meijer is hoping to hire as many as 30-40 additional employees to fill those needs, many of the new employees would be in charge of stocking shelves and helping with inventory.

KROGER
While Kroger is closing some of their personal-service counters like meat, seafood and salad bars — they're also looking to hire around 10,000 workers across the country to fill immediate needs in other areas of the store.

THORNTONS
Thorntons stores remain open and the company is hiring part-time temporary contingent workers at all of its locations.
Contingent workers are part-time temporary Team Members who will clean, stock shelves and coolers, maintain store standards, assist with other non-register activities and help to create a safe, clean and friendly environment for on-the-go guests. DOLLAR GENERAL
Dollar General announced it plans to nearly double its normal hiring rate and add up to 50,000 employees by the end of April.
While Dollar General currently anticipates the majority of these roles to be temporary, the company is also looking to provide long-term career growth opportunities to some of the new employees.
Dollar General currently operates more than 16,300 stores in 45 states, and approximately 75% of the American population is within five miles of a Dollar General. The Company also operates 17 traditional distribution centers, five DG Fresh cold storage facilities and its private fleet network.

CVS
CVS plans to immediately fill 50,000 full-time, part-time and temporary roles across the country. At least 1,000 of the positions will be at locations in Indiana.
Roles include store associates, home delivery drivers, distribution center employees and member/customer service professionals.

Discount Filters, an air and water filter manufacturer in Greenwood, serves residential customers, but their commercial division has expanded over the last several years to support hospitals, school systems, assisted living facilities and more.
The company is looking to hire between 30-40 new employees to fill six unique shifts (including nights and weekends) to accomodate just about any schedule. Positions include assember (air filters), assembler (water filters), pleater (air filters), picker (shipping) and packer (shipping).
While certain aspects of the positions will differ, overall, the following requirements are generally the same. Individuals will need to have strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, ability to follow verbal and written instructions and a willingness to perform repetitive tasks while standing for long periods of time.
Hours/pay/benefits/temporary or permanent: They have 6 different shifts, so the hours will vary depending on what shift the individual can work. The pay is $11.50-$12 an hour, but there is a shift differential up to $3.00 an hour for certain shifts. The positions are temporary, but if the individual is interested in full-time employment, they will consider them for a temporary-to-hire placement.
They are also going to start offering $1 an hour in surge pay for the season since this is normally the busiest time of year, not taking into account the COVID-19 situation. On a full-time basis, employees are eligible for standard healthcare benefits plus 17 days of PTO, six paid holidays, an on-site mini-mart, gym reimbursement, personal finance coaching and eventually a quarterly profit sharing bonus.
