CARMEL — One major trend we've noticed during our Hiring Hoosiers series is the impact childcare can have on one's ability to maintain employment.
Indy Nanny Concierge, a company that does the legwork for you when it comes to hiring a nanny, is looking to hire.
Becoming a nanny can be a major transition, as one woman who once worked in the corporate world learned.

"I graduated college, and I didn't know the exact career path I wanted to go, but I did take a corporate job," Michaela Muench said.
Muench says she was sitting at a computer for eight to nine hours a day when she realized it wasn't where she was supposed to be.
"I wasn't fulfilled in my last job; I wasn't fulfilled personally," she said.
That's when a friend recommended Indy Nanny Concierge.
"I've always loved kids, and I've had past jobs [at a] daycare, camp counselor, things like that," Muench explains.
She never thought childcare could be a career.
"The light bulb that kind of went off was when I met with Morgan [Corya], and I realized this is something I could do," she says, referring to the owner of Indy Nanny Concierge.
Muench has now worked for the Slabaugh family for a year, taking care of little Parker and big brother Landon.
"There's a lot of misconception with that, but it has changed my life, and that's all I can really say is that it has been the greatest thing to ever happen to me," says Muench. "Knowing that I get to come to work every day to these cute kids and knowing that I get to help develop their brains and their hearts, and just everyday life."
While the job isn't necessarily traditional, she doesn't regret taking the leap from the corporate world to childcare.
