PLAINFIELD — Stitch Fix Inc., an online personal styling service that uses algorithms to help shoppers select wardrobes, plans to create up to 980 jobs at two warehouse locations in Plainfield.
The San Francisco-based company plans to invest $19.1 million in existing warehouses at 1551 Opus Drive and 3124 E. Plainfield Road, according to a tax incentive agreement signed by state officials in late January.
The documents said Stitch Fix will hire as many as 980 workers by the end of 2026. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. pledged $8 million in tax credits to Stitch Fix based on its hiring plans.
Stitch Fix was founded in 2011 and initially sold women's clothing before expanding to include men's options in 2016.
The firm, which employs more than 6,600 workers, has 3.2 million clients and operates warehouses in San Francisco, Dallas, Phoenix, Atlanta and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, according to its website.
