What you need to know about College Goal Sunday 2019

INDIANAPOLIS — Volunteers will be at 37 locations in Indiana on Sunday to help college-bound students learn about financial aid programs.

Students and families can get help filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is required for most federal and state grants, scholarships and student loans from most schools, according to a press release from College Goal Sunday. The FAFSA must be filled out by April 15.

College-bound students should attend the event with their parents or guardians.

Here's what you should bring:

  • Parents should bring completed 2018 IRS 1040 tax returns, W-2 forms, other 2018 income and benefits information
  • Students who worked in 2018 should also bring their income information
  • Students 24 years or older can attend the event alone and should bring completed 2018 IRS 1040 tax returns, W-2 forms, other 2018 income and benefits information
  • A FSA IDs from the U.S. Department of Education. You can register for an ID here.

Volunteers will be at 37 locations from 2-4 p.m.

Indianapolis locations:

  • Arsenal Technical High School computer lab: 1500 E. Michigan St.
  • George Washington Community High School door #22: 2215 W. Washington St.
  • Beech Grove High School: 5330 Hornet Ave.
  • Ivy Tech Community College North Meridian Center: 50 West Fall Creek Parkway North Drive
  • Center for Leadership Development: 2425 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St.

Other locations:

  • Anderson Preparatory Academy: 101 W. 29th St.
  • Indiana University Kokomo: 2300 S. Washington St. Suite 230
  • Ivy Tech Community College Muncie: 345 S. High St.
  • Ivy Tech Community College Avon: 7508 Beechwood Centre Road
