MUNCIE, Ind. – A woman who shot at two intruders in her Muncie home, killing one of them, is now facing multiple drug charges.
Shortly before 6:30 a.m. Sunday, police said two people broke into an apartment in the 1700 block of North Glenwood Avenue.
Police said a woman living in the home, Darjae Houston, 23, fired back at the intruders, killing one of them. That person has been identified as Trayon Lawaun Turner, 22.
The second suspect fled the scene.
Houston is not facing murder charges because police say she shot the men in self defense.
After police searched the home they did charge Houston with marijuana possession and maintaining a common nuissance.
Later that morning, a person with multiple gunshot wounds checked into the hospital for treatment.
Muncie officers said they believe they have found everyone involved in the break-in, but are not releasing the name of the second suspect at this time.
