LAWRENCE — One person died in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night on Pendleton Pike in Lawrence.
Lawrence Police Department Assistant Chief Gary Woodruff said a motorist in a gray passenger vehicle was making a left turn at 7:30 p.m. Saturday from Pendleton Pike onto northbound McCoy Street when their car was struck by a driver going westbound in a gray sport utility vehicle.
The driver of the gray passenger vehicle was transported to a local hospital in critical condition where they later died. The only people in the vehicles were the drivers, Woodruff said.
Woodruff said the driver of the SUV was taken to Eskenazi Hospital for a blood draw, but there are no obvious indications of impairment.
Fatality crash investigators continue to look into the incident.
The identities of the people involved have not been released.
