INDIANAPOLIS -- A 13-year-old girl was shot while sleeping on the city's northwest side early Saturday morning.
The girl was shot just after 4:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of Glen Arm Road.
An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer at the scene of the shooting said four or five gunshots came from outside the home the girl was sleeping in. One bullet entered the window of the girl's bedroom and struck her in the leg.
The teen was treated and released from Riley Hospital, said IMPD Capt. Richard Riddle. The girl's mother told police she believed her ex-boyfriend was responsible for the shooting, but Riddle said police have not yet connected him or anyone else to the crime and have no one in custody.
