3 charged with murder of convenience store clerk

INDIANAPOLIS --  Three men have been charged with murder and attempted robbery in connection with the death of a Cumberland convenience store clerk.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Kiree Daron Hayes, 23, Tyler Miller and Damion Cobb, both 17, drove up to the Cumberland Express Mart on the night of January 15.

Police say two men went into the store at 11140 E. Washington St. while another stayed in the driver's seat.

The affidavit says the men demanded cash and then the clerk was shot once in the chest. Khushwinder Singh, 25, died at the scene.

PREVIOUS Three arrested in connection with convenience store clerk killing

Police say all three men were arrested a few hours later after a robbery at Rich Oil in the 6000 block of Brookville Road.

The affidavit says the men pistol-whipped the clerk and forced him to open the cash register.
