NOBLESVILLE—Wednesday evening commuters in Noblesville had a new roundabout to negotiate, and city officials hope it will result in better traffic flow.
A ribbon-cutting was held Wednesday for the roundabout at Greenfield Avenue and Howe Road.
The City of Noblesville Engineering Department selected the intersection due to concerns over vehicle safety and traffic congestion.
"This roundabout provides a more efficient connection with Howe Road and 146th Street and adds a traffic calming effect on Greenfield Avenue," said Assistant City Engineer Jim Hellmann.
The project's cost was nearly $850,000, with 80 percent paid by a federal grant and the rest coming from the city.
