INDIANAPOLIS -- A Crown Liquors store near IUPUI's campus was robbed early Friday morning, prompting an alert for students on campus.
Police described the incident as an armed robbery at the store located in the 600 block of W. 11th Street just after midnight.
The suspect in the robbery is described as a man standing 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighing about 135 pounds with brown eyes and a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark baseball hat with Sox written on the front, a white hoodie with a symbol on front, black jeans and black shoes. IMPD says he was last seen in the area of Lockefield Gardens apartments near Indiana Avenue and North Blackford Street.
An IUPUI alert initially sent out just after midnight advised students to lock their doors and take safe shelter.
An all clear was given after 3 a.m., but IMPD advised students to "use caution" when moving around campus, as they did not locate the suspect.
