CARMEL — On what would be a couple of busy holiday shopping days, Walmart has closed its Carmel store until 7 a.m. Sunday.
The company said the store in the Village Park Plaza was shut down at 2 p.m. Friday. COVID-19 was not listed as a specific reason for the action, but a statement from Walmart said the closing was taking place "in light of the current circumstances and out of an abundance of caution."
While the store is closed, it will be sanitized and cleaned.
Walmart says the drive-thru pharmacy at the Carmel store will remain open and online grocery orders will still be available for pickup.
Walmart says the closing is being done to "protect the health and safety of our customers and associates."
