Motorcyclist dead after crash involving SUV on Indianapolis' southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS — A man was killed in a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle Thursday evening on the southeast side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called around 8 p.m. to the crash near Shelbyville and Five Point roads, IMPD Officer Michael Hewitt said in an email. When they arrived, they located a man, believed to the motorcyclist, laying on the ground. He later died.

At this time, accident investigators believe the SUV struck the motorcycle, Hewitt said.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
