UPDATE: Whitestown police on Friday confirmed that one of the passengers involved in the crash, Nyab Ksor, 50, of Indianapolis, died from his injuries. The other four occupants of the passenger vehicle are still being treated at an Indianapolis hospital.
WHITESTOWN — Authorities believe alcohol contributed to a serious crash near Whitestown between a car and a semi-truck that injured multiple people.
According to information from the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department, authorities were dispatched to State Road 267 and Indianapolis Road at 5:19 p.m. after a semi-truck and a passenger car collided. Five people were in the car, while one person was in the semi-truck.
Five people were transported to Indianapolis hospitals, Whitestown police said.
Investigators determined the semi-truck was heading southbound on State Road 267, while the car was driving east on Indianapolis Road.
The Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department said alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash, and the Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is investigating the collison due to the severity of several injuries.
Whitestown police, Boone County Sheriff's deputies and multiple Boone County Fire/EMS agencies responded to the crash.
