BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. -- A Taylorsville Elementary School student was suspended this week after school officials say they had a "death list" they were sharing with another student on the school bus.

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation officials say they received a report that an 8-year-old was sharing the list on a bus Wednesday and they notified law enforcement.

The student involved was suspended until school officials could have a meeting with the child's family. School times were not affected on Thursday.

BCSC sent the following message to parents at Taylorsville Elementary School on Thursday.

Good morning Taylorsville families!  The safety of our students is our top priority.  Upon receiving a report yesterday involving a threat, we responded immediately.  It was reported that an 8-year old student showed a hit list to another student on the bus after school.  Law enforcement was notified.  The student was suspended until a meeting with family.  Students are safely learning at Taylorsville today.  Thank you for your continued support!

It is unclear when the child will be back at school. The incident remains under investigation.
