Man arrested after setting two homes in Bartholomew County on fire

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. —A man was arrested Saturday morning after he allegedly set two houses on fire in Bartholomew County.

Firefighters and emergency responders were called just before 7 a.m. to the 2700 block of East Main Cross Street on the report of a residence fire.

When they arrived, a 33-year-old man from Waynesville, told Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies another house in the area was on fire as well. The man told deputies he set both houses on fire, according to a Facebook post by the Clifford Volunteer Fire Department.

The man was arrested and preliminary charged with one count of arson.

Authorities are still investigating the fires.
