COLUMBUS — A sprinkler system line that burst Thursday evening caused a big mess in the cafeteria of a Columbus hospital.

A spokesperson for Columbus Regional Health says they believe the arctic blast and subzero temperatures were to blame for the busted line, which caused the sprinkler system to go off and flood the cafeteria around 7:30 p.m.

The hospital says their team was able to quickly get the mess contained and the flooding did not impact any patient meals.

By Friday morning, the hospital said they were almost fully cleaned up and were running very close to schedule. They expect to be done with cleaning by late Friday afternoon.
