BEECH GROVE, Ind. -- Beech Grove police are asking citizens to help them track drivers who ignore school bus stop signs.
Every weekday afternoon, Beech Grove Police Capt. Scott Ferrer climbs into his squad car and hits the streets. Usually he patrols the ones around schools.
"People are very impatient," Ferrer said. "I think they're self-important. Their agenda is more important than what the school bus has to do."
Ferrer said people ignore school bus signs on a daily basis, but there's not always an officer around to see it.
That's why police are asking you to call it in if you see another driver ignoring a school bus sign.
Police say it could also be helpful to see if there are certain streets where drivers ignore buses more than others.
