INDIANAPOLIS — U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos stopped in Indianapolis Tuesday as part of her back-to-school tour.
DeVos met with students and faculty at Purdue Polytechnic High School, so she could take a look at hands-on STEM classes.
Devos says schools like Purdue Polytechnic are preparing students for future careers and providing them with multiple pathways to success.
"I know I wish I would have had some experiences like this when I was in high school,” DeVos said. “Hands on, project-based learning really works for a lot of young people, for a lot of individuals and it's a great option and a great opportunity."
Purdue Polytechnic was founded by Purdue university, the City of Indianapolis, and industry and academic leaders.
