PLAINFIELD — A man and a truck were recovered from a neighborhood pond Sunday morning in on the west side of Plainfield, according to fire officials.
Plainfield Fire Territory crews and emergency personnel were called around 9:45 a.m. to a pond near Fieldstone Lane and Newberry Road, PFT Assistant Chief Brent Anderson said.
Crews were called to the location for a possible vehicle in the pond after someone saw tire tracks going into the pond, Plainfield Police Department Deputy Chief Joe Aldridge said.
Crews later located a truck and the man's body inside, Anderson said.
Investigators believe the truck was traveling on Fieldstone Lane when into into the pond, Aldridge said.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, Aldridge said in a press release.
Additional details surrounding the incident have not been released.
