BOONE COUNTY, Ind. -- A man driver a tractor was critically injured after a box truck struck the back of his tractor Tuesday afternoon in Boone County.
Deputies were called to U.S. 52 at 700 N just before 2:20 p.m. where they say Joseph Garst, 66, was driving his tractor in the right lane on U.S. 52 when a box truck driven by a 29-year-old Indianapolis man slammed into the back of him and forced him off the road.
Garst was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in critical condition. The truck driver was treated and released at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff's Office.
