One person killed in crash on I-74 in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY — One person is dead after a serious crash on I-74 in Boone County early Tuesday morning.

The Boone County Sheriff's office responded to multiple crashes on I-74 near Jamestown around 8 a.m. The crashes caused both directions of I-74 to be closed in the area for several hours.

The sheriff's office says one person was killed as a result of those crashes. Their identity has not been released.

The interstate was re-opened at 11:30 a.m.

The crashes remain under investigation.
