Whitestown police alert residents of attempted child abduction, searching for white van

WHITESTOWN, Ind. -- Police in Whitestown are alerting parents of an attempted child abduction that was reported on Wednesday. 

The Whitestown Police Department posted the alert on their Facebook page asking anyone who may recognize the possible suspect or vehicle to contact them immediately. 

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-30s with brown hair and a mustache. He was driving a white utility van with green decals on the side. 

The attempted abduction happened somewhere in the Clark Meadows Neighborhood. 

The details surrounding that attempted abduction have not been released. 

If you have seen the van, the man or have a security camera that captures the street in that neighborhood you should contact the Boone County dispatch center at 765-482-1414, option 8, or the administration office at 317-732-4550.
