ZIONSVILLE, Ind. -- A man was shot late Monday night in a Zionsville apartment complex.
The shooting happened at the Quail Run Apartments at about 10:30 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot in the head. The man gave police a suspect description, then was taken to the hospital in good condition.
Whitestown Police, Lebanon Police, and Indiana State Troopers were called in to search for the suspect. The search was exhausted at 2 a.m. Tuesday. Police believe the suspect has left the area, but are still asking anybody nearby to be vigilant.
"We're asking people to be aware of their surroundings," Zionsville Lt. Adrian Martin said. "Be aware of suspicious activity moreso than normal. We want them to report activity that they would normally just shrug off. Help us catch this individual so this doesn't happen to anyone else."
The suspect has been described as a heavyset Hispanic man, around 5-foot-8. He was last seen leaving the area headed eastbound on foot, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
This is the same apartment complex where a man was shot and killed in 2017. In that shooting, 30-year-old Terrell Scott of Indianapolis was found dead.
