Brownsburg neighbors work to make intersection safer

BROWNSBURG — Neighbors in Brownsburg say they are tired of deadly crashes at an intersection they call dangerous.

Last week, 16-year-old Josie Cranfill was killed in a crash at State Road 267 and County Road 1000 North.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says they plan to install a traffic light at the intersection. But, until the stoplight goes up, neighbors are doing what they can to warn drivers — and you can't miss it.

The large sign has a simple message: "Slow Down Stop Ahead."

INDOT says the work to install the new stoplight could take more than a year.
