CARMEL—Parents of some Carmel Clay school students were being notified Friday that some of their children's personal data was "impacted by a security breach."
The data included first and last names of students, and in some instances, date of birth.
In its letter to parents, the school system said it was notified of the problem by Pearson Clinical Assessment, an online assessment system previously used by the district. "No grade or assessment information was affected by the incident," according to the school system. "Pearson does not have any evidence that any information has been misused, but as a precaution, they are providing the option to enroll in a complimentary one-year membership in Experian's Identity Works SM. This product provides you with with superior identity detection and resolution of identity theft."

The school system says no grade or assessment information was affected by this incident.
RTV6 asked how many students were impacted by the security breach, but we have not heard back.
