Carmel police arrest 2 men after armed robbery

CARMEL, Ind. -- Two men were arrested Monday night after police investigated an armed robbery.

Police say five men were walking on 2nd Street when two men approached them and demanded money. One of them had a handgun.

Both suspects later walked away from the victims, who were uninjured and immediately called 911. Police responded and found the two suspects, identified as Pavel Grachev, 20, and Caleb Johnson, 18.

After a foot chase, police apprehended the suspects. Police also found the handgun with the help of a police K9.

Grachev faces the following charges:

  • Robbery with a deadly weapon
  • Intimidation
  • Resisting law enforcement
  • Carrying a handgun without a license

Johnson faces the following charges:

  • Robbery with a deadly weapon
  • Intimidation
  • Resisting law enforcement
