Child hit by foul ball at Indianapolis Indians game, taken to hospital

INDIANAPOLIS — A child was taken to the hospital after being struck by a foul ball Saturday night at the Indianapolis Indians game.

During the game against the Gwinnett Stripers at Victory Field, a "young fan" near the first base line was struck by the ball, Charlie Henry, director of communications for the Indians said.

Additional details on the child's injuries were not released.

Tonight a young fan was struck by a foul ball along the first base line. On-site EMT personnel provided treatment at the stadium and the fan was transported to the hospital. We are not able to disclose further details at this time. Our thoughts are with the entire family.
