Child killed, three people injured in crash on Indy's north side

INDIANAPOLIS — A child was killed and three other people were injured in a single-vehicle crash on the north side of Indianapolis on Tuesday.

According to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, emergency crews were called to the area of North Keystone Avenue and East 52nd Street around 8:47 p.m. Tuesday on report of a serious crash.

Police said a vehicle was traveling north on Keystone Avenue when for reasons unknown it swerved and ended up crashing through a tree and rolling over in the parking lot of an Aldi Food Market.

Officers said a child was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people were taken to area hospitals for treatment. There is no condition available for the three people who were transported from the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
