LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- A Lafayette church, currently holding services in a strip mall, is moving to a new home in a location that some might find rather unusual.

Lafayette Community Church has outgrown the space where the congregation has met for nearly nine years.

The new location for the church is next door to Filly's Gentlemen's Club.

Pastor Jeff Mikels told the Lafayette Journal & Courierthat price was the initial reason the church looked at the property.

"But it was after the summer of talking and praying with people that we realized this was a great opportunity for us. We are trying to help people know what God loves them, and this location gives us the opportunity to do that," said Mikels.

Both sides told the paper that they don't believe they will interfere with each other as long as they respect boundaries.

"Even though we have differences of opinion we respect each other," said Ed Gobel, co-owner of the strip club.
