INDIANAPOLIS — One person was shot and killed on the northeast side of Indianapolis on Thursday night.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 4800 block of Lakeshore Place on reports of a person shot at around 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot injury. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Derrick Curtis Perry II.
IMPD says one person was detained in connection to this incident. They were later released after discussion with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
