1 dead in shooting on Indy's southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS — Officers with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating after a man was shot and killed on the city's southeast side Monday evening.

It happened just before 7 p.m. in the 800 block of S. Pasadena Street. When officers arrived at the scene on a report of a person shot, they found an adult male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. The man was later identified as Daniel Brown, 56.

IMPD Homicide Detectives also responded to the scene to begin their investigation. Detectives have been speaking with a person of interest, though they don't believe that person to be a suspect at this time.
