INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead following a shooting Sunday night on the city's west side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound just after 9:30 p.m. when they responded to the 500 block of North Tremont Street just after 9:30 p.m. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene, according to police.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene, and the shooting is under investigation. The man's identity has not been released.
The shooting was the third homicide in Indianapolis since Saturday. At least 12 people were shot in the city between Friday and Sunday night.
