1 shot, killed on Indy’s southwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead following a shooting on the southwest side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 1800 block of West Morris Street on reports of a person shot at around 5:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot injury. The victim was originally reported to be in critical condition but later died at a local hospital.

At this time, IMPD does not have a suspect in custody.

The Marion County Coroner's Office will release the victim's name once his family is notified.
