10 people arrested in Columbus following downtown crime complaints

COLUMBUS — Ten people were arrested Thursday morning in Columbus on a variety of charges.

The arrests followed complaints in downtown Columbus about fights, narcotics dealing, a shooting, foot and vehicle pursuits, stolen vehicles and thefts, according to a release from the Columbus Police Department.

The operation involved Columbus Police Department officers, the Intelligence Led Policing Unit and the Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team.

The people arrested included:

  • A 43-year-old Columbus man for dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a narcotic drug and possession of marijuana.
  • A 31-year-old Columbus man on a felony warrant for auto theft, resisting law enforcement and attempted battery by bodily fluids on a law enforcement officer.
  • A 22-year-old Columbus woman on two arrest warrants for resisting law enforcement and conversion/unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, and resisting law enforcement.
  • A 23-year-old Columbus woman for an out-of-county theft warrant, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a legend drug injection device.
  • A 62-year-old Columbus man on a parole warrant and possession of methamphetamine.
  • A 25-year-old Columbus man on possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A 27-year-old Columbus man for possession of a controlled substance.
  • A 41-year-old Indianapolis man for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a legend drug injection device, driving while suspended with a prior conviction and possession of marijuana.
  • A 44-year-old Columbus man on a felony warrant for resisting law enforcement.
  • A 34-year-old Columbus woman for possession of drug paraphernalia.

WRTV does not name suspects who have not been formally charged with crimes.
